August 26, 2026

Tabcorp Holdings has released its full year results for the period ended 30 June 2026, with the company achieving revenue of $2,636.3 million, up 1.5% from the prior year. Net profit for the year reached $46.3 million, however, the company’s earnings growth has stalled with profit flat to the prior year at 0.0% change. The results paint a picture of a mature business facing growth headwinds, particularly in its core Australian wagering operations.

The dividend announcement provides limited upside to shareholders. Tabcorp declared a final dividend of 1.5 cents per share, bringing the total dividend for the year to 3.0 cents per share when combined with the interim dividend of 1.5 cents paid in March. Notably, both dividends are unfranked, meaning Australian taxpayers cannot claim franking credits. The company has confirmed its Dividend Reinvestment Plan will continue to operate for the final dividend, with shares allocated at the daily volume weighted average market price over a five-trading-day period and no discount applied.

A critical issue emerging from the results is the company’s negative net tangible asset backing position. Net tangible asset backing per share stands at negative 0.51 cents, or negative 0.54 cents when including licences. This negative position reflects that Tabcorp’s liabilities exceed its tangible assets, a situation requiring careful monitoring. The inclusion of leasing liabilities and corresponding right-of-use assets in the calculation indicates the company’s capital structure is becoming increasingly leveraged, a development particularly relevant given that balance sheet strength has historically been important in the wagering and media sectors.

The company is actively pursuing strategic growth initiatives, with a proposed acquisition of BetMakers flagged as a key priority. This acquisition represents an attempt to strengthen Tabcorp’s digital and international wagering capabilities, though the timing and earnings impact of this transaction remain uncertain. Tabcorp operates across Wagering and Media, Integrity Services, and complementary international operations, positioning the business across multiple revenue streams within the gaming and sports integrity ecosystem.

The full year results suggest that Tabcorp’s growth trajectory remains constrained by market maturity and competitive pressures within Australia’s regulated wagering sector. Modest revenue growth of 1.5% coupled with flat profitability indicates the company is struggling to leverage its dominant market position into meaningful earnings expansion. Investors should closely monitor the progress and terms of the BetMakers acquisition, any earnings impact from the transaction, the sustainability of the dividend policy given the negative NTA position, and management’s ability to drive organic growth in the core Australian business. This announcement is price sensitive and has been designated as a material disclosure by the ASX.
