Mesoblast Limited has delivered a striking financial inflection, reporting total revenue of US$120.3 million for the financial year ended June 30, 2026, a seven-fold increase from US$17.2 million in the prior year period. The jump reflects the successful commercial launch of RYONCIL (remestemcel-L-rknd), the company’s lead cellular medicine for steroid-refractory acute graft versus host disease (SR-aGvHD) in children, which generated net revenue of US$115.2 million after accounting for gross-to-net adjustments. This represents a fundamental shift in the company’s financial trajectory from a late-stage development company to a revenue-generating commercial enterprise.

The commercial success has translated into tangible improvements across Mesoblast’s financial profile. Reported gross profit reached US$103.6 million, while gross profit excluding amortization rose to US$109.7 million from just US$16.0 million in the prior year. More impressively, the company’s net loss contracted by 44 percent to US$57.5 million, with the second half of the year showing a 68 percent reduction to US$17.3 million. This trajectory toward operating breakeven demonstrates that RYONCIL’s pricing and uptake are supporting the company’s move toward sustainable profitability without requiring dilutive capital raises.

The company ended the period with US$103 million in cash and secured a US$125 million five-year non-dilutive credit facility, retiring higher-cost debt. With net operating cash spend of just US$43.8 million for the year and only US$13.4 million in the second half, Mesoblast has extended its runway substantially. This financial flexibility is critical as the company invests in expanding RYONCIL’s market penetration and advancing its pipeline programs.

The market adoption data underscores RYONCIL’s early success. Mesoblast has onboarded over 50 pediatric transplant centers, including 14 of the top 15 sites by transplant volume. Payer coverage has expanded to 280 million covered lives, and the company has reduced the median time from patient identification to treatment initiation from 29 days to just 8 days, demonstrating improving operational efficiency and market acceptance.

The announcement also highlighted completion of patient enrollment in a Phase 3 trial of rexlemestrocel-L for chronic low back pain, with readout expected next year. The company believes a successful outcome could unlock a market opportunity worth billions of dollars. Additionally, management flagged plans to expand RYONCIL to adults with severe SR-aGvHD, a market estimated to be three times larger than the pediatric indication currently generating revenue.

Investors will be watching closely for the Phase 3 back pain trial readout next year, which could meaningfully reset the value narrative if successful. The expansion of RYONCIL into the adult SR-aGvHD market and continued demonstration of price resilience and uptake will determine whether the company can sustain its financial momentum. This announcement is price sensitive and has been flagged as material by the ASX.
