Betashares Capital Ltd has announced estimated distributions for two of its high-interest cash ETFs for the period ending 30 July 2026. The Betashares Australian High Interest Cash ETF (ASX: AAA) will distribute an estimated 0.18892954 cents per unit on a monthly basis, while the Betashares Australian Cash Plus Active ETF (ASX: MMKT) will distribute 0.19856242 cents per unit monthly. These regular income payments reflect the funds’ exposure to cash management strategies in the current interest rate environment.
The estimates carry a caveat worth noting. Betashares has advised that these figures represent the estimated distribution only and may differ from final amounts, with the definitive distribution announcement scheduled for 3 August 2026. The ex-distribution date falls on 3 August, the record date on 4 August, and payment will be made on 11 August. To qualify for the distribution, unitholders must have purchased shares before the ex-distribution date, with settlement completed and the holding registered on or before the record date.
Both funds are structured as Attribution Managed Investment Trusts (AMITs) for tax purposes under the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997. This designation carries implications for investors, as the AMIT regime permits funds to distribute cash at levels different from the taxable income attributed to unitholders. The flexibility inherent in the AMIT structure can assist investors in managing after-tax outcomes, though investors should seek professional tax advice relevant to their personal circumstances.
Operational considerations have been communicated for the distribution period. Authorised Participants will be unable to lodge application or redemption requests on 31 July 2026, though public trading on the ASX will continue uninterrupted with NAV and iNAV data updated as usual. Processing for Authorised Participants reopens on 3 August 2026. Investors enrolled in the Distribution Reinvestment Plan need to ensure any reinvestment elections reach MUFG Corporate Markets, the fund registrar, by 5pm AEST on 5 August 2026 if they wish distributions to be reinvested rather than paid out in cash.
To ensure timely receipt of distributions, investors should verify that current bank account details are on file with the registrar. Distribution statements will be delivered electronically to investors who have selected email as their preferred communication channel, with alternative access via the MUFG Corporate Markets Investor Centre for other unitholders. Investors are encouraged to register their email addresses to streamline future communications. Betashares notes that the announcement constitutes general information only and does not constitute financial advice. All investors are advised to review the relevant Product Disclosure Statement and Target Market Determination before making investment decisions. This announcement is price sensitive and flagged as material by the ASX.
