Regis Resources (ASX: RRL)View stock profile →

Regis Resources delivered gold production of 83.0koz in the first quarter of FY27, meeting expectations despite operational disruptions from significant September rainfall. The company generated $146 million in pre-tax cash and bullion during the quarter, which included a $51 million Vault break fee, demonstrating both production consistency and strong cash conversion even as the business navigated weather-related challenges. After tax payments of $53 million, Regis held $1.28 billion in cash and bullion as of 30 September 2026, positioning the company with a fortress balance sheet heading into the remainder of the financial year.

The production breakdown shows Duketon contributed 56.1koz while Tropicana delivered 27.0koz (Regis’s 30 percent attributable share), tracking in line with expectations for a quarter weighted toward lower production volumes. The company’s full-year FY27 guidance spans 360 to 400koz total, with Duketon guided to produce 240 to 270koz and Tropicana 120 to 130koz. The first quarter result represents roughly 23 percent of the midpoint guidance, consistent with management’s earlier indication that production would be weighted toward the second half of the year as mining development activities mature.

Capital expenditure in the first quarter was weighted toward the first half as multiple open pits are being commenced across the project portfolio. This front-loaded investment approach aligns with a production profile that builds through the year, suggesting investors should expect a meaningful ramp in output as these new pits transition to steady-state operation. The substantial cash generation in Q1, despite the capex intensity and tax outflows, underscores the underlying quality of Regis’s asset base and the cash returns flowing from its existing mining operations.

Investors will receive detailed operational and financial performance metrics, including all-in sustaining costs, when Regis releases full September quarterly results on Tuesday, 20 October 2026. The company will host a conference call at 12:30pm AEST that same day to discuss the quarter and provide guidance on execution of the capex program and trajectory toward the second-half production acceleration. A webcast of the call will be available at https://webcast.openbriefing.com/rrl-qtr1-2027/.

Key focus areas for investors ahead of the detailed results include evidence of on-time, on-budget progression of the open pit development program, trends in all-in sustaining costs as production ramps, and any commentary on the timing and magnitude of the second-half production profile. The quarterly production and cash generation metrics disclosed in this announcement are material to market participants evaluating Regis Resources Limited, and the company has flagged this as price sensitive to the ASX.
