Metrics Master Income Trust has announced a monthly distribution of AUD 0.0130 per ordinary unit for the period ending 30 September 2026. The distribution relates to a single month of income and represents the trust’s ongoing commitment to regular cash returns to unitholders. This announcement is price sensitive and has been flagged as material by the ASX.

The distribution timetable provides clear dates for investors to plan around. The ex-date falls on 30 September 2026, meaning investors must own units before that date to receive the distribution. The record date is 1 October 2026, and the payment will be made on 8 October 2026. For those considering the dividend reinvestment plan, the election deadline is Friday 2 October 2026 at 5:00 PM, giving unitholders a narrow window to make their choice before the payment date.

One key feature of this distribution is that it is entirely unfranked, representing 100 percent unfranked income. This has tax implications for unitholders depending on their individual circumstances and tax residency. Unfranked distributions do not carry franking credits that Australian taxpayers can claim, so investors receiving the cash payment should factor this into their tax planning and overall yield calculations.

The trust operates a dividend reinvestment plan with full DRP availability for this distribution. Unitholders can elect to reinvest their distribution into additional units rather than receive cash. The DRP features a zero percent discount rate, meaning units allocated through reinvestment are issued at the calculated reinvestment price with no additional discount applied. The default option for unitholders who do not make an active election is to receive a cash payment rather than reinvestment. This default setting means unitholders must actively opt in if they wish to reinvest. The reinvestment price will be calculated during a specified period, with the actual reinvestment amount per unit to be announced on 6 October 2026.

For MXT unitholders, the key decision point is whether to reinvest the distribution or take the cash. With the zero percent DRP discount, there is no financial incentive built into the plan itself for reinvestment, so the choice depends on individual portfolio strategy and cash flow requirements. The narrow election window means investors should make their decision promptly to avoid missing the 5:00 PM deadline on 2 October. The announcement also notes that the distribution amount is currently estimated, with the actual distribution to be confirmed on 6 October 2026, so unitholders should monitor for any changes to the distribution amount between now and the payment date.
