Perseus Mining’s 2026 annual results show revenue growth of 18.9% to US$1.48 billion, driven by both higher gold prices and sustained production levels of approximately 405,000 ounces. The stronger top line has translated into net profit after tax of US$480.5 million, up 13.9% from the prior year, reflecting the company’s ability to capitalize on prevailing market conditions in the gold sector.
While revenue growth outpaced profit growth by a notable margin, the company’s all-in site cost of US$1,750 per ounce remains well below the average sale price of US$3,693 per ounce, providing a substantial operating margin. This cost structure demonstrates operational efficiency even as gold prices have moderated from recent peaks. Net profit attributable to members reached US$428.2 million, up 15.5%, with net tangible assets per share improving to 1.79 from 1.40 in the prior year.
Cash generation remains a standout feature of Perseus’s performance, with the company reporting notional cashflow of US$769 million. This robust cash position has enabled a material increase in shareholder distributions. The company has declared a final dividend of 9.00 cents per share, double the prior year’s 5.00 cents, while the interim dividend rose to 5.00 cents from 2.50 cents. Combined, the full-year distribution totals 14.00 cents per share, significantly higher than the prior year’s 7.50 cents, signaling management confidence in sustained profitability and cash generation.
The balance sheet strengthens further with improved net tangible assets, reflecting both retained earnings from strong operational performance and the company’s capital discipline. Operating margins remain attractive given the current gold price environment, with the company well-positioned to generate strong returns at current commodity levels. The dividend increase is particularly notable as it represents capital returning to shareholders rather than accumulation on the balance sheet, suggesting management views the asset base as adequately capitalized for future growth.
Investors should monitor whether Perseus can maintain production levels and cost discipline as gold prices potentially moderate from current elevated levels. The sustainability of the cost structure and whether production volumes can be sustained or expanded will be critical to the dividend trajectory going forward. Additionally, gold price sensitivity remains a key variable, as the margin between the current US$3,693 sale price and the US$1,750 cost base provides meaningful downside protection but also significant upside should prices rise further. This announcement is price sensitive and has been flagged as material by the ASX.
