Credit Corp Group Limited’s Annual General Meeting announcement today highlighted the company’s leadership transition and diversification strategy bearing fruit, with consumer lending and US debt buying operations now generating over three-quarters of group earnings. The company appointed a new Chair in July 2026 following Eric Dodd’s 17-year tenure, and management presented FY26 results demonstrating strong earnings growth, record profits and what the board characterised as an enhanced platform for continued expansion.
The Australian and New Zealand debt buying segment produced a solid result as the market returned to growth following years of contraction in personal default loan sales volumes. Credit Corp secured its highest level of segment investment in four years, reflecting increased buying opportunities as credit providers took active steps towards higher sale volumes. The US debt purchasing operation demonstrated significant progress towards establishing the company as one of the most competitive platforms in that market, with strong collections in the final quarter bringing quarterly asset turnover approaching that of market leaders.
Consumer lending delivered the most visible growth, with refreshed marketing driving lending growth of 15 per cent and pushing the loan book past the $500 million milestone. The Wallet Wizard cash loan product continued to lead market performance, while new offerings including the Wizit digital credit card paired with the Powerup line of credit accounted for over 17 per cent of all new customers acquired during the year. This expanded loan book provides what management described as a sound platform for another strong FY2027 result even after funding expansion initiatives.
Behind the headline business results, Credit Corp devoted considerable resources to developing enhanced digital and artificial intelligence capabilities. The company reported digital interaction collection outcomes increased by more than 20 per cent over the prior year. The board also signalled its commitment to geographic diversification by commencing UK lending market operations, targeting what it identified as a considerably larger and presently underserved credit-impaired consumer segment compared to Australia’s market.
The proxy voting summary reflects strong shareholder support across all resolutions, with board appointments securing support above 96 per cent and auditor appointment at 98.42 per cent. Remuneration resolutions received lower support, with the short-term incentive grant attracting 91.32 per cent and the long-term incentive grant 86.34 per cent, though both passed comfortably. Management confirmed it continues to evaluate both organic and in-organic growth opportunities, demonstrating discipline around acquisition pricing as evidenced by declining to proceed with the Humm acquisition.
