EBOS Group (ASX: EBO) – Investor Presentation 31 Now Available

EBOS Group has completed its four-year, A$360 million distribution centre renewal program, marking a significant inflection point for the company’s capital allocation strategy. The investment cycle completion removes a substantial drag on cash flow, with capital expenditure expected to decline to approximately A$100 million in FY27 from A$145 million in FY26, potentially releasing more than A$150 million for growth investments and shareholder returns.

The group delivered FY26 results in line with guidance, with underlying EBITDA rising 5.0 percent to A$614 million despite material headwinds from fuel costs and foreign exchange impacts. Revenue grew 9.9 percent to A$13.5 billion, with both Healthcare and Animal Care segments demonstrating resilience. The completion of the DC renewal network has begun to yield productivity gains, particularly at the new Kemps Creek facility, which is targeting approximately 30 percent improvement in warehouse productivity by FY27.

Underlying net profit after tax declined 3.1 percent to A$250 million, reflecting higher depreciation and amortisation costs associated with the investment cycle and increased financing costs, a deliberate trade-off management accepted to modernise the network and position for future growth. Leverage remained within the company’s 1.7x to 2.3x target range at 2.1x, providing headroom for further debt-funded acquisitions or capital returns.

Management signalled clear execution priorities for FY27, guiding to underlying EBITDA of A$635 million to A$655 million, representing mid-single digit organic growth. Healthcare expects to maximise new distribution capacity and capture increased funding for specialty medicines, while Animal Care is focused on premiumisation through new fresh and chilled product formats following the Paringa acquisition. Medical Technology aims to expand geographic reach and therapy areas through additional partnerships and bolt-on M&A.

The shift from heavy capital deployment to organic growth initiatives and strategic acquisitions should drive improved free cash flow generation. Dividend policy remained unchanged at a payout ratio targeting 60 to 80 percent of underlying net profit after tax. The capital intensity reduction and improved cash generation may create additional capacity for returns if management executes efficiently on its growth pipeline.

Investors should monitor whether EBOS deploys its available acquisition capital productively and whether the DC network productivity gains materialise as forecast. The group’s track record of disciplined bolt-on M&A and ability to integrate assets will determine whether the completion of the investment cycle translates into sustainable earnings acceleration and improved returns on the capital deployed.
