JPMorgan Asset Management (Australia) Limited has announced updated distribution amounts for six equity premium income ETFs listed on the ASX, with the funds due to pay out between 20.34 and 54.47 cents per unit on 29 October 2026. The distributions represent the latest in a series of regular payouts from these funds, which are designed to deliver monthly or quarterly income to unitholders through a combination of dividends, interest, and option income strategies.
The six funds covered by the announcement include both globally focused and US-focused variants, each available in unhedged and hedged versions. The JPMorgan Global Equity Premium Income Complex ETF (JEGA) is distributing 20.84 cents per unit, while its hedged counterpart (JHGA) is paying 20.38 cents. The JPMorgan Equity Premium Income Complex ETF (JEPI) and its hedged version (JHPI) are distributing 27.92 and 26.04 cents respectively. The US-focused offerings are more substantial, with the JPMorgan Nasdaq Equity Premium Income Complex ETF (JPEQ) distributing 54.47 cents and its hedged variant (JPHQ) distributing 50.37 cents per unit. The variation in distribution amounts reflects differences in the underlying holdings, hedging costs, and market conditions affecting each fund.
To receive the distribution, investors must be registered unitholders as at the record date of 15 October 2026. The ex-date is also 14 October, meaning investors purchasing units on or after that date will not receive this particular distribution. Payment is scheduled for 29 October. These dates are significant for anyone considering entry or exit positions in these funds, as the timing determines whether holders are eligible for the current distribution cycle.
The announcement notes that distributions are not guaranteed, and future payouts may differ from current levels. At the end of each distribution period, the unit price of each fund typically adjusts downward by approximately the amount of the distribution paid, reflecting the cash outflow to unitholders. Investors seeking to reinvest distributions can participate in the Distribution Reinvestment Plan (DRP) by submitting a Change of Distribution Election Form to the Unit Registrar by 5:00 p.m. Sydney time on the record date. For DRP participation, investors must have registered their Australian bank account details with the share registrar, MUFG Corporate Markets (AU) Limited. Registration can be completed online through the investorcentre portal or by calling 1800 576 100.
Unitholders should monitor whether the distribution amounts hold steady in subsequent months or whether market conditions lead to adjustments. Changes in underlying equity valuations, dividend yields, and volatility levels can all influence premium income distributions over time. The investment manager has flagged this announcement as price sensitive and material to the ASX.
