Metrics Master Income Trust (ASX: MXT) – MXT 4 Dividend Distribution Announced

Metrics Master Income Trust has announced a monthly distribution of AUD 0.01460000 per ordinary unit, scheduled to be paid on 9 November 2026 to unitholders on record as at 2 November. The ex-dividend date is set for 30 October, marking the cutoff for investors to hold units and be eligible for the distribution. The announced amount is estimated and will be confirmed on 5 November 2026.

The distribution represents an ordinary monthly payment to unitholders and relates to the one-month period ending 31 October 2026. The entire distribution is unfranked, which means no franking credits are attached. For Australian taxpayers, this distinction matters because unfranked distributions do not carry the associated tax credit that fully franked dividends provide, affecting both the effective yield and the tax liability on the distribution income.

MXT’s monthly distribution structure reflects its income-oriented investment mandate. Delivering distributions on a monthly basis provides unitholders with consistent cash flow throughout the financial year. This approach can appeal to investors seeking regular income payments and those who prefer to manage reinvestment decisions frequently.

One notable constraint remains in place: the trust’s Dividend Reinvestment Plan is suspended. This means unitholders cannot automatically reinvest their distributions to purchase additional units, whether at a discount to market price or without transaction costs. In a suspended state, investors who wish to compound their returns through reinvestment must execute manual purchases in the secondary market through their broker, incurring standard transaction costs and forgoing any plan-based discount benefits.

Based on this single month’s distribution, the annualized rate would approximate 17.52 percent. However, this calculation is illustrative only and reflects just one month’s outcome. Monthly distributions from income-focused trusts typically fluctuate depending on the performance of the underlying portfolio and market conditions, so any single month’s distribution provides limited insight into patterns across longer periods.

The operational timeline is clear for market participants: ex-date closure occurs on 30 October, the record date for entitlement is 2 November, and settlement of payment is 9 November. The final confirmation of the distribution amount on 5 November provides certainty before the record date, allowing the trust to validate calculations against end-of-month portfolio data.
