Regis Resources delivered record statutory net profit after tax of $715 million for the financial year ended 30 June 2026, up $461 million from the prior year, underpinned by strong gold production and gold prices that exceeded $6,200 per ounce for much of the period. The group generated record operating cash flow of $667 million and lifted its cash and bullion balance to $1.184 billion after paying more than $300 million in total dividends and tax payments, signalling robust financial health across the current mining cycle.
The profit expansion reflects disciplined operational execution at its Duketon and Tropicana producing assets. Regis produced 379,050 ounces of gold at an all-in sustaining cost of $2,945 per ounce, generating a realisation spread of more than $3,300 per ounce between cost and achieved selling price. The group achieved earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation of $1.345 billion, a substantial increase from $780 million in FY25, with an EBITDA margin of 57 percent on sales revenue of $2.349 billion. This demonstrates the operational leverage embedded in the business model when commodity prices remain elevated relative to production costs.
The company declared fully franked dividends totalling 35 cents per share for the full financial year, comprising ordinary dividends of 30 cents distributed across two interim payments and a special 5-cent distribution returned to shareholders following the Vault break fee receipt. The full-year 39 percent payout ratio against group cash increase sits comfortably within management’s stated capital policy of distributing between 25 and 50 percent of cash generation to shareholders on a semi-annual basis. At the 20 August share price of $8.23, the fully franked dividend yielded 6.1 percent, providing both capital return and potential for ongoing franking credit utilisation.
Looking ahead, management reaffirmed FY27 production guidance of 360 to 400 thousand ounces at an all-in sustaining cost of $2,990 to $3,390 per ounce. The wider cost guidance band reflects anticipated inflationary pressures in input costs and a $88 per ounce non-cash benefit from planned stockpile drawdowns, signalling the company expects tighter margin conditions as costs normalise from current levels. The group plans growth capital expenditure of $250 to $270 million and exploration investment of $80 to $90 million, targeting development of higher-grade ore sources to sustain the long-term production profile.
Investors should monitor whether Regis executes to FY27 production and cost guidance amid the rising operational cost environment, how effectively the company deploys its substantial $1.2 billion cash balance toward organic growth initiatives, and whether commodity price moderation from current elevated levels tests the sustainability of the dividend policy.
