The company operates across bulk and packaged explosives, technical and supplementary blasting services, automation solutions, specialty mining chemicals, and digital blast management, with each area contributing to an integrated offering that spans the full blasting process from design through to outcome measurement.
Among its notable products and brands, Orica offers the Avatel underground development charging system, the BlastIQ and SHOTPlus blast management platforms, OREPro 3D for ore prediction, GroundProbe and MEASURAND geotechnical monitoring solutions, and FRAGTrack fragmentation analysis, alongside specialty chemicals including sodium cyanide and nitrogen fertilizers such as urea ammonium nitrate and ammonia. Formerly known as ICI Australia Limited, the company adopted the Orica name in February 1998, though its origins date to 1874. It is headquartered in East Melbourne, Australia.
