The Energy Generation and Storage segment covers the design, manufacture, installation, sale, and leasing of solar energy and storage products to residential, commercial, industrial, and utility customers through its website, stores, galleries, and channel partners, with notable products including the Powerwall and Megapack battery storage systems, solar panels, and solar roof. The Automotive segment also encompasses self-driving development, artificial intelligence software, vehicle control and infotainment software, and battery and powertrain technology. Formerly known as Tesla Motors, Inc., the company adopted its current name in February 2017, having been incorporated in 2003 and is headquartered in Austin, Texas, United States.
